Convert Pataphysical Calendar to Standard Dates

And notes on the Society's preference for the latter

It is often necessary to translate the dates from College documents or other sources enamored by Ubu’s pet calendar. Though never used by Jarry himself, the calendar is commonly encountered, and so it’s handy to be able to convert between the systems freely. (Note that the year 0 in Ubu’s calendar refers to the year of Jarry’s birth, 1873. Other details regarding its operation have been documented elsewhere.)

In general, the Society uses standard American-style dates for convenience. We do not intend any way to be a pataphysical organization; we are a traditional society whose objects of study and amusement may transcend into the speculative and imaginary, and whose sundry affairs may opt for any mode of irregularity as best serves our needs.
